Privacy Policy

Last updated:

hofalfy ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit hofalfy.com, how we use it, and what rights you have. We have written it in plain language — no legalese padding.

1. Data We Collect

  • Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, browser type, IP address.
  • Contact data: name and email address if you submit a contact form or newsletter sign-up.
  • Cookie data: preferences and analytics identifiers stored in your browser (see Section 3).

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate and improve hofalfy — understand which guides are most useful and fix technical issues.
  • To respond to inquiries you send us via the contact form.
  • To send editorial newsletters, only if you explicitly opted in (you may unsubscribe at any time).

3. Cookies & Tracking

We use first-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation) and functional cookies to remember your preferences. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set. You can reject non-essential cookies via our cookie banner or your browser settings at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Google Analytics 4 — aggregated site-usage statistics. Data processed in the EU where possible.
  • Email provider (Mailchimp) — stores subscriber email addresses for newsletter delivery.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

  • Access & portability: request a copy of data we hold about you.
  • Correction & erasure: ask us to correct inaccuracies or delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Opt-out / Do Not Sell: California residents may request we do not sell personal information — we do not sell data, but you may formalise this request in writing.
  • To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

6. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months then automatically deleted. Contact form submissions are kept for up to 12 months. Newsletter subscriber data is held until you unsubscribe, after which it is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Security

hofalfy transmits all data over TLS (HTTPS) and restricts access to personal data to authorised personnel only. While we take reasonable precautions, no transmission over the internet is 100{af81a0dac4aa0555a8029e8ec0b0dbdd4167aa2b97a19bee93c0aaaea13897f2} secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

hofalfy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of hofalfy after changes constitutes acceptance.
